Afoyo African Safaris Terms And Conditions

Transport:

Afoyo African Safaris operates a fleet of fully insured vehicles. The type of vehicle used depends on the number of travelers and the selected itinerary route. All tours are led by skilled and experienced English-speaking driver-guides.

Mode of Payment:

All prices are listed in US Dollars or Euros. Payments can be made in cash directly to Afoyo African Safaris. Advance payments may also be completed via bank transfer, Western Union, or MoneyGram. Clients are advised to notify us via email so we can recommend the most suitable payment option.

Reservations:

When booking directly with Afoyo African Safaris, please provide your custom itinerary reference number, travel dates (arrival and departure), number of travelers, accommodation preferences, and flight details if available. This helps us organize your trip accurately and efficiently. Gorilla trekking permits typically require booking at least three months in advance.

Note: Children below 12 years are not permitted for chimpanzee tracking, and those under 15 years are not allowed for gorilla trekking.

Obtaining a gorilla permit does not guarantee that gorillas will be seen. Factors such as park closures, security issues, or the movement of animals may prevent access. Afoyo African Safaris cannot be held responsible for such situations. Refunds, if any, are determined solely by the relevant authorities and are not guaranteed. Fees for gorilla and chimpanzee permits are generally non-refundable, although we may attempt to request refunds on your behalf.

Note: The probability of seeing gorillas is approximately 98%.

Transfer of Booking:

If you are unable to travel due to exceptional circumstances, your booking may be transferred to another person or rescheduled to a different date, provided all travel arrangements remain unchanged and suppliers (such as airlines and hotels) accept the transfer. Gorilla permits, however, cannot be transferred.

Accommodation:

Accommodation is typically arranged in twin rooms or tents with private bathrooms where available. Single rooms may be provided at an additional cost but are not always guaranteed. Double beds may also be arranged upon request, depending on availability.

Tour Price:

Tour prices include transportation as outlined in the itinerary, park entrance fees, applicable permits, driver allowances, and third-party insurance. Prices do not include accommodation where not specified, travel insurance (which should be arranged independently), airport departure taxes, visa fees, tips, beverages, phone calls, laundry, or other personal expenses.

Note: Clients are strongly encouraged to obtain travel insurance prior to departure. Local evacuation coverage can be arranged upon request in case of a medical emergency during the tour.

Children:

Children under 12 years sharing a room with two adults usually pay between 50% and 75% of the standard rate. However, for flights, safaris, adventure activities, and gorilla or chimpanzee trekking, full adult rates may apply. Some lodges and camps allow a maximum of two الأشخاص per room and may not provide extra beds. Additional restrictions may apply. Child rates are available upon request.

Liability:

All bookings are accepted on the understanding that Afoyo African Safaris and its agents act solely as intermediaries for services such as accommodation, transport, and tours. We are not responsible for injury, delays, loss, or damage, including disruptions caused by airlines such as flight cancellations or schedule changes. If itinerary changes are necessary, revised pricing will be provided.

Afoyo African Safaris reserves the right to use subcontractors to deliver part or all of the services. Liability for passengers transported in company vehicles is governed by the laws of the country in which the service is provided. Any claims must be handled within the jurisdiction where the issue occurred. While we take all reasonable precautions, we are not liable for loss or damage to personal belongings or life.

Complaints / Refunds:

Any complaints or refund requests should be reported immediately to our local representative during the trip so that efforts can be made to resolve the issue. If the matter is not satisfactorily addressed, clients must submit a written complaint to Afoyo African Safaris within 30 days after the trip. Failure to do so may affect the ability to pursue claims. No refunds will be issued for unused services.

Viewing Animals:

Wildlife viewing should always be approached with caution. Sightings are not guaranteed, as animals roam freely in their natural habitat. Visitors are advised to maintain a safe distance while observing or photographing wildlife. A gorilla permit allows you to track gorillas but does not ensure clear visibility.

Force Majeure:

Force majeure refers to events beyond the company’s control that could not have been anticipated or prevented, even with all reasonable precautions. Participation in activities during such events is at your own risk, and Afoyo African Safaris cannot guarantee safety under these circumstances.

Afoyo African Safaris is not liable for failure or delays in delivering services caused by unforeseen events such as war, civil unrest, government actions, border closures, terrorism, labor disputes, natural disasters, extreme weather, fires, epidemics, quarantines, or travel-related hazards affecting land, air, or water transport.

Afoyo African Safaris reserves the right to adjust tour prices without prior notice due to increased costs from service providers such as hotels, fuel, park fees, or food. We also reserve the right to modify itineraries, cancel tours, decline participation, or recover costs resulting from delays or circumstances beyond our control.
